It may seem like common sense but less fuel = less weight and less hassle.Depending on the tow bar you have fitted (if at all) it may be necessary to slacken the bolts to allow the tow bar to move down facilitating easier fitting of the guard.Support the nearside of the fuel tank with a small jack.Undo the four mounting bolts; the two front, above the rear diff, and the two rear, next to the tow bar mounting point. Keep the rear square nuts from the chassis side of the fixing.Remove and discard the standard tank cradle.Using a small ratchet strap, run this under the tank using the lashing points as guides, and secure onto another part of the vehicle.Gently lower the tank onto the strap and remove the jack.Offer up the guard and hold it in place with the small jack (use a bit of wood or cloth to stop it scratching the main face of the guard).Remove the strap from between the tank and guard. Jack the guard into position and fit the guard using the four M10x30 bolts, washers and nuts (front only) as supplied.Fully tighten all nuts and bolts to the manufacturers recommended torque settings and re-tighten tow bar as required.
